Dynamic VLAN on L2 switch

Is there a way to configure a port on a 2950 L2 switch to be assigned dynamically on a VLAN, depending on who is connecting his laptop on that port ? (VLAN informations are sent through a trunk port). I have an L3 switch on my backbone to do the routing, but I'd like to use more than one VLAN on my L2 switches, and some of them need dynamic VLANs. Any hint ? Thanks

Yes you can do this on a 2950 but you need

1) The EI image on your switch

2) An authentication server such as ACS

I do have the EI image on my switch.

What is exactly the authentication server role ? Could it be my L3 switch or do I need any other specific piece of equipment ?

Hi

In addition to Jon's post u need to have a radius server and VMPS supported switch which is 6500.

Thanks
