EIGRP practice test question.

       Hello.

        I'm having a problem understanding a question related to EIGRP.I've attached an Image of the question with the exhibit.

I'd like to know If answer a. Implies that the wrong manual route summary was enabled on the R5 Interface.

  I also don't understand how router 4 doesn't match both destinations seeing It has an EIGRP route to both.

Regarding the answer "a", no, it does not imply anything about summarization. The answer "a" merely suggests that the network is manually configured using the netmask of /25, and for the host B, its pre-configured default gateway 10.1.103.5 is outside its own IP network as the host B is assigned an IP address 10.1.103.201/25 (i.e. .128 - .255).

The answer "b" suggests that the router R5 advertises its network 10.1.103.0/25. That would mean that indeed, R4 has no route towards 10.1.103.201 but it has a route towards 10.1.103.101 (as this falls into the 10.1.103.0/25 network).

It would if it was present - but what makes you believe that Router4 knows such network itself? Just because it was advertised to Router1 does not mean that Router4 knows the exact network itself. It may be advertising a summary network to you (to Router1) as a result of summarizing the 10.1.103.0/25 into 10.1.102.0/23 but otherwise, it may know only the component network 10.1.103.0/25 and not other networks.
