Enabling Multicast

I have a LAN that consists of two 6500's with SUP720's and about 40 2970's (with a few 2960's mixed in). The 2970s are basically an access layer as they serve as ports for the servers inside my cabinets. Each 2970 is trunked and etherchanneled up to the 6500's.

I have an application that needs multicast and it is not enabled on my network. I can see how to enable it on my 6500's but not how to do it on my 2970's. Model number and IOS version are WS-C2970G-24T-E - 12.2(37)SE1.

How can I enable multicast across the LAN? Do I have to enable it on all switches? Are there any caveats to doing this?

The layer 2 switches like 2970 and 2960 should have IGMP snooping enabled by default, that is all you need on those switches. however, if you are going to route multicast you need to enable multicast routing on your L3 devices which would be your 6509 with sup720.
