Equal or unequal number of ports in EtherChannel

I've got same questions regarding EtherChannel, in this case Layer-2-Channels:

Does it matter if i configure an EtherChannel with an equal or unequal number of ports?

How are the packets distributed by equal or unequal number of ports?

Does this depend on the hardware and software version of the switch?

Kind regards and thanks in advance

Matthias

Re: Equal or unequal number of ports in EtherChannel

Matthias

I am not aware of any limitations in terms of odd or even number of links when using etherchannel and i have used both in production environments.

As for load-balancing across the links, this varies across switch platforms, see attached link for more details -

Does this answer your question ?
