errdiasble recovery interval recommnedation

Is there a minimum recommended value for the errdiasble recovery interval?

I know that the default is 300 seconds. Is there a valid reason to decrease that interval. Are there any whitepapers available that discuss the impact of shortening it?

I came across the following set of commands within a configuration template that is being used for any new switch deployments:

errdisable recovery cause udld

errdisable recovery cause bpduguard

errdisable recovery interval 50

No one can explain why the interval was reduced to 50 seconds nor how would impact the network.

Re: errdiasble recovery interval recommnedation

The simple answer whoever decided they did not want to wait very long to try and renenable the port if a port goes down errdisable . at 50 seconds if the port really has a problem then you are going to get a fair amount of spanning tree churn which could possibly disrupt things seeing that normal spanning tree takes almost that long to run .
