Error add interface port-channel

Hello everyone, a Customer ask me  to configure a etherchannel between two Switches C3500 XL Version IOS 12.0

follow the first configuration what I done and the output error show me by switch

Sw01(conf)# interface port-channel 1

% invalid input detected at '^'  marker.

so....my question is: I have to do something before add an new port-channel interface ?? why the Sw01 does not accept my configuration ?

any tip is welcome.

This is quite old stuff nowadays.

Try this

!
interface FastEthernet0/1
port group 1
!
interface FastEthernet0/2
port group 1

Think you acampebell, I'm go to test.

what do you think about I upgrade from version 12.0 to 12.3 or 12.4 ?

my customer sometimes complains of slow. I've checked there is only an cable between two switches....so I want

establish an etherchanel with three ports maybe we earn speed...I think

Hi,

I have had a look on the software download page.

The latest and last IOS for these old switches is:-

c3500xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC17.bin

So 12.0.5 is the end.

Here is another old link showing an example of a 3500XL with an etherchannel to a 6500 CATOS
