error detected on gi1/9

Hi folks,

As per the logs created I found the following errors on the port gi1/9

ERROR "link-flap error detected on Gi1/11, putting Gi1/11 in err-disable state"

Jul 2 16:25:15 gmt: %PM-SP-4-ERR_DISABLE: link-flap error detected on Gi1/9, putting Gi1/9 in err-disable state

Jul 2 16:25:15 gmt: %PM-SP-STDBY-4-ERR_DISABLE: link-flap error detected on Gi1/9, putting Gi1/9 in err-disable state

Jul 2 16:47:55 gmt: %PM-SP-4-ERR_DISABLE: link-flap error detected on Gi1/8, putting Gi1/8 in err-disable state

Jul 2 16:47:55 gmt: %PM-SP-STDBY-4-ERR_DISABLE: link-flap error detected on Gi1/8, putting Gi1/8 in err-disable state

Hi Naidu,

Link flap error occurs when the interface/link goes Up / down very frequently. most often its the physical layer problem - so check the cable / duplex / gbic converter.

Hi Dananjoy,

Thanks for your early reply.

Present I am at remote location need to coordinate with on site persons.

As you told I understood about cable, duplex except gbic converter.

Can you tell brief about gbic converter?

Hi

Actually I meant GBIC(gigabit interface converter) card.
