Apparently this is a known

Apparently this is a known bug with Cisco CSCul08799

IPDT: nmsp prevents converting the port from access to trunk
CSCul08799
Description

Symptom:

"nmsp enable" doesn't allow the port to be converted from access to trunk. Even when "nmsp attachment suppress" is configured on the interface, nmsp is not ignored on the interface

Conditions:
"nmsp enable" or "nmsp attachment suppress" under the interface

Workaround:
disable nmsp and default the interface to configure the port as trunk

This required a reboot as well after I executed the commands and rebooted things worked great...
