These logs appear once a day, more or less.
Everything is working well, but I'm interested in knowing what they mean.
I did a search on google but I could not find anything relevant.
Someone can help me to detect what may be wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Gaston.

Hello Gaston,
when you see a traceback you are seeing the dump of a specific memory portion and this is the sign of a software bug
Oct 4 16:13:16: EthChnl-MP assert failure: ahwidb_primary: ../switch/pagp/lacp_switch_snmp.c: 129
Oct 4 16:13:16: -Traceback= 41D36810 41D42078 41540FA4 418598A4 418586B0 40EA45B0 40E832A4 40E768D4 40E9A27C 410388F8 410388E4
as you can see the software error is related to a software routine written in C language with name lacp_switch_snmp.c that is related to LACP and may be to SNMP queries to LACP bundles.
Or to the process of election of the master port for the LACP bundle (EthChnl-MP assert failure)
If no real issues are present for the moment you can keep an eye on the device.
An IOS image upgrade could solve this issue so this can be added to other reasons for an upgrade but it is not alone a reason for doing it (if there are no real problems)
Hope to help
Giuseppe

Hi friend,
Our campus core switches (6509) are installed in VSS 1440 architecture. On 'logging console', we get similar messages.
*Jan 16 11:15:00.945: SW1_SP: EthChnl assert failure: swidb2: ../switch/pagp/pagp_switch_util.c: 837

The IOS Version is 12.2(33)SXI4a on our VS-S720-10G 5 ports Supervisor Engine 720 10GE. We are running almost latest IOS. The switches are in production now. Any idea on what really causing this message to appear? How can I resolve this? If a software upgrade helps, then what is the best way to upgrade two VSS switches with in a short downtime?
Please assist,
Best regards,
