Here is the problem. I have 2 Express 500 WS-CE-24LC switches in seperate buildings that I need to run Fiber through. I 2 GLC-FE-100FX SFP modules to accomplish this. The issue Im having is getting the 2 switches to see each other. The Fiber is fine and the modules are ok so Im assuming I dont have something configured properly. Lets assume I know very little about Cisco equipment and command line. What do I need to do or check to get the ports configured. The way the rep made it sound I just plug up the ports, plug in the fiber cables, and Im done. So far everthing that I tried to do as far as configuring has been in the web based configuration. Is there something different I have to do when I plug in an SFP port? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
