Failover issue with stacked 3750G

Hi All,

We have two 3750G switches loop stacked. These two switches connect to Dell Equallogic Servers and VMWare Servers. We split connections from SAN servers and VMWare servers to get high avaiablity. So if one switch is down, VMWare Server still can use another switch to reach Dell Equallogic SAN Servers.

When we do the failover testing, we found out when we reboot switch 1 (when it is Master). Our VMware Machine froze. Even switch 2 took over to be the master. But when we reboot switch 2(when it is Master), VMware Machine never hung. I compared two switches flash: files. Only difference is switch2 has private-config.text.backup. But I don't think this will cause the problem.

I haven't assign one to be master permanently. Is this helpful if I assign one to be master permantly? One thing I don't understand is when switch 2 is master, rebooting switch2 doesn't cause problem. So the re-election should not affect anything unless re-election is different when I reboot two different switches.

In addition, is there any debug command to see what's happening when switch do the re-election?

Thanks a lot for the help!!
