The fan has gone in one of our switches. I am wondering what my next step should be; replace the fan? Or get a new switch? I have no idea how easy and cost effective it is to change a switch fan. Any advice would be appreciated.
If the switch is under SmartNet maintenance, the obvious answer is to replace the switch. If not, the 2950 is covered by Cisco's lifetime warranty. This is depot service, so you will be without the switch for a couple of weeks. If you have a spare on hand, this may not be a problem.
