The first port of the switch does not get connectivity when SFP module inserted. The SFP moduels use for Cisco GE SFP,LC connector LX/LH
transceiver. The other ports are functioning well with the same SFP.
Would appreciate your suggestion.

Hi Kazi,
I suspect a hardware fault with the switch.
Can you insert the SFP module into the first port, then do "show interface G0/1" (or whichever interface it is)?
If you do this, does the switch see that there is an SFP GBIC inserted? It may list this under "media type".
If it does detect the GBIC, then I'm not sure what's happening, but if it doesn't detect it, but all the other ports do, I'd put this down to a hardware fault with the switch itself.
Hope this helps!
Kind regards,
Graeme

I had ports 11&12 die on the same model switch. Even though when running the "show interface gig1/0/12" command it recognized the SFP, they still didn't work. We sent the switch RMA back to our supplier.
