Hi All,

I would like to ask about the meaning of a certain command which i believe part of Flexi Link.

interface GigabitEthernet 0/1

switchport backup interface Gi0/2 prefer vlan

switchport backup interface Gi0/2 prefer vlan 255

Can anyone explain?

Many thanks!

Best Regards,

The prefer command appended to the configuration configures load balancing:

Hi j.blakely,

Thanks for the input and im very sorry for the late acknowledgement, we are experiencing heavy rains and high flood here in the philippines.

Since the command is for load balancing does that mean that by default the vlans declared as prefer on the backup interface is going out on the back up interface?

How would I verify?

Cause I am experiencing downtime on the main interface but the traffic is not adapting (not going out on the backup interface) as it should be.

Thanks!

Best Regards,
