Floating Static routes and EIGRP

I have a Floating Static route and EIGRP problem.

Processing Site-2811-ASA-1841-3750-2821-MPLS-2821-3560-ASA-2811-2ndrouteProcce

At my main site I have a 3750 at the core of my switch environment running EIGRP in the same network as all my other devices. It sends traffic via a point to point connection to a processing site- this traffic flows to the left thru the ASA and 2811 (the 2811 is not ours -we do not have access to it's config). If the point to point to the processing center goes down I want traffic to re-route across the WAN-to the right- and out our 2nd point to point to the processing center.

The 1841 is using IP SLA and floating static routes. When the link goes down, it changes it's EIGRP table and sends traffic back to the 3750 and creates a loop. If I remove the link between the 3750 and the 1841 the 3750 learns the route thru the MPLS and works correctly.

What's wrong? I can provide Sho runs etc. if required

Re: Floating Static routes and EIGRP

The symptoms that you describe indicate that although the 1841 recognizes the loss of connectivity and changes its routing table, that information is not shared with the 3750.

To understand the problem and to be able to suggest a solution we will need some additional information. At this point I believe that we particularly need some config details from the 3750 and the 1841. How does the 3750 learn a route to the remote destination (is it a static or dynamically learned from the 1841)? And how does the 1841 learn the route to the destination? And with IP SLA how is the 1841 checking access to the 2811? What is the 1841 advertising to the 3750 and why does the 1841 not advertise the change when it uses its floating static?

So show run and show ip route from the 1841 and from the 3750 would be helpful.
