Hi all, when im ready to buy a frame relay circuit, what would be class as the normal speed of the line, and what would be called the burst rate? is it local loop speed for normal speed and CIR for burst rate ?
"Committed Information Rates (CIRs) increase network control by providing a mechanism for prioritizing end user data on a per-PVC basis across a given UNI. A CIR allows a sustained throughput at a chosen rate."
By contrast, a burst rate is a maximum unsustainable rate.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
