I was using kron (the archive

I was using kron (the archive scheduler) combined with the archives commands. I ran into the log as well:

Mar 26 11:18:08.494: %ARCHIVE_CONFIG-4-ARCHIVE_SKIPPED: Archive of router configuration was skipped due to a previous initiation.

The solution without using a restart that worked for me on a 3400 cisco is:

1. I removed the archive setup, as well as the kron setup.

2. I added the archive setup again.

3. I tested the archiving by issuing "archive config" command on the cli, and it worked.

4. I re-added the kron setup and ran another test with "archive config" and it was archiving the config to my ftp server; in other words, it was working.

Hopefully works for you as well!

Re: Ftp error on 7200

I have experienced this immediately after configuring archive commands on a router. The archive configuration I used, writes the configuration to the router's flash whenever I run a "write" command. I received exactly the same error message. The only remedy that I found was to reboot the router. I expect that it's a bug in the IOS. I believe that it occurred with both c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.124-24.T7.bin and c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.124-24.T8.bin. As you see, I was using 2800 seriies routers.
