Hi,
Apart from doing trunking, vlan, share the network, what is the other functions of cisco switch? Can it be used for routing? Please show the example. Thanks.

If it is a multilayer switch it can be used for routing.eg.intervlan routing in u r switch,

switches can also seen as a good way to provide access port density. so end customers are, for examples linked up at 100Mb, then trunked to upper layers on a single high speed port or even more as ether-channel.
