%GBIC_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-VN_DATA_CRC_ERROR

Hi all!

I have some SFPs from RAD, MIRIC-E3. I try to config in a cisco switch but i get this message:

05:55:16: %GBIC_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-VN_DATA_CRC_ERROR: GBIC in port Gi0/23 has bad

crc

05:55:16: %PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: gbic-invalid error detected on Gi0/23, putting Gi0/

23 in err-disable state

then i set the command "no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid" to avoid error disable for that SFP but the sfp don't work.

I found the command "service unsupported-transceiver" but my IOS don't support it.

I have a C2960G with IOS 12.2(35)SE5.

Somebody knows if it's possible that this SFP works with cisco switchs?

I have a linksys switch that works perfect.

Re: %GBIC_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-VN_DATA_CRC_ERROR

From experience, I can tell you that non-cisco gbics will not work in Cisco products and furthermore are not supported if they get to work.

Re: %GBIC_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-VN_DATA_CRC_ERROR

conf t

service unsupported-transceiver

no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid

Hi,

Have a look at this if you decide to use the above mentioned command -
