I'm looking for help on a CatOS switch that has an amber on it's status port. I'm getting an "amber" on the catalyst switch card only but I'm also getting connectivity problem. I'm looking for the problem as well as a short / long term solutions since this is a pretty important switch in our network. Thanks for your help.
If it is a port card then make sure the diagnostic test level is set to complete and then reset the card , if there is a problem it will usually show up when the card resets itself and it will show up in the logging buffer . Can also use the "show test . If it fails the test then you will have to get a replacement card to fix the problem .
