We had a 3560 go down today. It had an err-disable on its GigabitEthernet port.
This is a first. Do you guys have any clue as to why it would do this?
The 6513 FastEthernet stated that it was up/up.
I'm scratching my head for now...
Thanks!

Hi,
Please post the output of "show interface status err-disabled", it should have the reason, example:
Switch#show interfaces status err-disabled
Port Name Status Reason
Fa0/13 err-disabled bpduguard

Mohammed Mahmoud.

I already put the switch online by doing a shut/no shut on the port.

Hi,
Without the output of "show interfaces status err-disabled" we can't say what was the reason of the err-disable, please issue it if this reoccurs.
BR,
Mohammed Mahmoud.

Will do. Thanks for the input.
I was in a panic mode and wanted to get the department back online ASAP.
If it occurs again, I'll be sure to issue the "show interfaces status err-disabled".
Thanks again!
