Hi,
I've noticed on the Cisco 87x series routers that IOS 12.4 contains GLBP commands, but if you set it up, it only seems to perform HSRP functions and no load balancing... Does anyone know if Cisco are going to be fully supporting GLBP on the 87x series routers or are they just teasing us??? =)
Regards,
Alan.

Hi Alan,
How do you say that it performs like HSRP.Can you plase give more details of the behaviour you are observing. That will help to narrow down the issue.

Alan,
How are you testing it? AFAIK, GLBP works correctly on all platforms.
Be aware that the LB in GLBP is a slight misnomer - it does not do load-balancing, it does host-balancing. That is, it works by giving a different ARP response to different hosts. Therefore, the hosts will be shared between the routers, but each individual host will go through one router only (and will use the other as standby).
If you were testing with one host only, you will not see any load balancing.
Tell us more about your test setup and let us see some diagnostic output.
