Yes you can use that in the compatible device models. Because the rugged SFP is supported only through the specific device models. Since rugged and LH sfp you have used is operating in the same wavelength it should work. But the device compatability is much important in your case.
No it does not work for this case. Please be concerete. one site LX one Site LH does not work.
