Help with password of a Catalyst 2800 Switch with no MODE button

I recently got a used Cisco Switch Catalyst 2800 online which does not have a MODE button. It works well. However, the previous owner put a Password on the Management Console and I don't know how to access it. Cisco web site says I should "Contact the Cisco TAC for the factory-installed password". When I called them, I was told Cisco does not support this product any more. Is there a possible way to recover the password? I will appreciate any help you give me.

Thanks for your message. Yes, I am pretty sure. On the front panel, it shows:

Catalyst 2800

280285932

Cisco 2802

serial number

I think the middle numbers are serial number.

Note: I have never, ever, seen this before. :)

Yes, Catalyst 2800 is an old model. Thanks for your link. I tried with the procedure and actually called Cisco TAC. I was told Cisco cannot give me the factory-installed password because they do not support this model of switch any more. I think it is easy for Cisco to

provide some kind of support, at least allowing users to query the original password. Could you please tell if there is another way to recover

the password?

Thanks again,

Eugene
