High CPU usage on WS-3560G

Hi All,

I'm experiencing constant high CPU usage (90%) above on a 3560 switch. I have rebooted the switch. The problem persists. I've had a look at the 'show cpu processes sort' command and I have observed 'FIFO error Detec' is using more than 7% of the CPU.

Has anyone experienced this before? I've never seen the 'FIFO Error Detec'

Hey Martin,

When you see there Fifo Error Detection than you have to think that there is something wrong with the queue on one of the interfaces so I suggest looking for that interface. Moroever you mentioned that CPU usage is over 90%, so you may have to check other processes as well.

Hi Rajeevsh,

After some more investigation we noticed a lot of multicast traffic from a part of the network. Trying to lock that down now.
