Re: High THREAD-process load on Cat6509

No your switch is not lacking of any power. Normally, the high cpu was caused by enabling rpf on a GE interface and removing it, the procees that was high was the FIB, switch5 > (enable) sho proc cpu.

Re: High THREAD-process load on Cat6509

What does rpf do? Is that enabled in a constant intervall? I have sometimes funny ping-replies to that switch (see attach.). Any idea? Thx.

Re: High THREAD-process load on Cat6509

Are you running BGP?

What version of SUP720 do you have? (a, b, bxl)

Re: High THREAD-process load on Cat6509

No BGP. No SUP720, it is an old SupVis1a WS-X6K-SUP1A-2GE
