Would like to check with anyone out there whether host flapping of a single mac address cause cisco 4506 to hangs ?

I would say not likely... Hangs are usually software caused.

i dont think a single MAC-address flap wil cause a 4506 to Hang.

This condition is mainly caused due to very high CPU load. The reason most of the time is a spanning tree loop

According to me the 4506 has enough Horse Power to take care of a single host flap.
