I have a cluster of seven 2960G switches. On six of the switches I have set the hostname succesfully. On the seventh switch, I can set the host name, and everytime the switch is reloaded, it gets renamed with a name that is a variation of the command switch in the cluster. I have tried changing via CLI and through the Network Assistant, and neither one seems to save.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Hi Bkesting,
What is the IOS running on the problem switch?
Is the problem 2960g using the same version of IOS as the 6 that are working?
Upon reloading, is the hostname the only thing that is changed? i.e are you missing any other config / change in config?
Regards,
Nelson

All of the switches are running the same version of IOS. 12.2(55)SE. As far as I can tell, all of the other configuration remains the same. I initially created a cluster with these seven switches, and later converted to a community. But when the switches all reload, the one switch ends up changing its host name to match that of what was the old cluster command switch with a -1 added to the end of the name.
