How make a Computer into a Bridge

Dear Friends,

I have 3 Computers (with Windows 2000 Professional).

-PC1 have 2 LAN cards (One is connected with PC2 and otherone is connected with Cisco 2950 Switch).

-PC2 have only one LAN card which is use to connect it with PC1.

-PC3 have also one LAN card which is use to connect with the same Cisco 2950 Switch.

I want that PC2 do ping or accessible for PC3...this is what I want.

Note: PC3 pin/access to PC1 but not PC2.

PC1 ping/access both PC2 & PC3.

PC2 ping/access PC1 but not PC3.

All PCs/computers are on the same Subnet (192.168.0.5/6/7 with 255.255.255.0 and all PCs are on the same Workgroup).

PLs. solve my problem.

Regards,

Shahid

Re: How make a Computer into a Bridge

On pc1, enable the routing service:

control panel -> admin tools -> services -> routing

You might need to keep pc2 on separate subnet.

(On win xp pro, you can bridge between interfaces but AFAIK not on win 2000)

Re: How make a Computer into a Bridge

Did you put pc2 in a different subnet?

You also have to configure the default gateway correctly.

also on PC1 go to:

network -> properties and right-click on one of the NIC. Ckeck if bridging is available in the list.

Re: How make a Computer into a Bridge

THANKS.

I have solved my problem by Bridging links on PC2 by installing XP...as you told earlier.

Does Windoes 2003 Enterprise Server also give Bridging option as Win XP gives?
