How many Interfaces in HSRP

Hi,

I got 2 Questions in HRSP please reply if anyone is having answers

1) How many interfaces can be Grouped in single HSRP Group?

2) How many HSRP Group instances can be run in a Cisco Router/Switch (Example: Nexus 7K)?

Hi,

Not sure the maximum number of HSRP speakers you can configure in one group. The maximum number of group depends on the platform as well the HSRP version. For N7K is 2048 groups per system.

Hello Shaik,

answers:

1- only you need to assign one interface in each router. but a practical number can be three or four.

2- for the MLS switchs you can creat 256 group in each single router.

Thanks for your reply, I guess 256 groups we can configure in HSRP-V1, and in HSRP-V2 we can configure upto 4095 groups, got this information from
