Re: How to access MSFC in 6509 Switch

The you dont need to access the MSFC, your on it. Config your routing from global configuration mode.

So for ospf do:

Core_1#conf t

Core_1(config)# router ospf 1

Core_1(config-router)# blah

Re: How to access MSFC in 6509 Switch

If it is in native mode, you are in RP(MSFC) now. If you want to log into SP, you can try "remote login switch"

Hello Chandhrasekar,

Sup II and MSFC talk via internal trunk 15/1

you need

session 15

from supervisor prompt to access the MSFC

Hope to help

Hello Giuseppe,

I tried Session Slot 15 as well as Session 15 both did not work. It did not let me in the Router (MSFC)

Re: How to access MSFC in 6509 Switch

1, "show module" to check if MSFC is up and in OK status.

2, "show port 15/1" to make sure port 15/1 is not in err-disable status.

If both is OK, you might disable your vty session in your MSFC configuration. (Session 15 command will try to telnet to MSFC).

So you might have to use "switch console" command when you CONSOLE into the switch.

Re: How to access MSFC in 6509 Switch

sh module results shows the MSFC status as OK.

Sh port 15/1 throws error.

I believe it throws error, as I am running in Native Mode (Cisco IOS)

Re: How to access MSFC in 6509 Switch

Yeah, that's CatOS command since I thought you are in hybrid mode. :)

If it is native mode, you are already in MSFC.
