How to add IOS to a Catalyst 3500 switch with no files or IOS

I bought a switch off of ebay but the seller removed everything including the IOS image.  Does anyone know how to add an IOS image to the switch?  I do not know how to setup TFTP in order to load files in the current mode that the switch boots in.  Here is some output that may help you see my predicament more clearly.  I have switch images and other working routers and switches but

can you issue the following and post the output:

switch: flash_init

issue command:

switch: dir flash:

And post the output,

You just have to follow the procedure on the link above by leolaohoo.

On new switches they come with a universal image and have licenses to unlock different feature set. Unless you have the need for ip services than you will most likely go with the standard image.

On new switches they come with a universal image and have licenses to unlock different feature set. Unless you have the need for ip services than you will most likely go with the standard image.

3500XL switches do not come with "universal" images.  It's purely a Layer 2, 2nd-generation of switches.

I would like to thank everyone for their help.  I finally got my switch running this morning.
