How to Best Protect Data Center core Nexus 7K's from Unnecessary STP topology Changes

Hi all,

I've got a pair of Nexus 7010's running vPC with top-of-rack Fabric extenders (FEX). The Nexus 7010's are running as my collapsed core switches in my data center, so I have servers directly attach to the FEX's and the N7K's. I've ran into issues where a dual-home server would accidentally create a STP topology change and briefly affecting a VLAN causing connection time out. I have servers that are dual-homed either via port-channal or vPC. My end goal is to ensure the N7K's are protected from any accidental or unnecessary STP topology changes that would cause disruption to the network.

Thanks all !! I appreciate any inputs / suggestions !!

DannyDo you know what exactly

Danny

Do you know what exactly the servers are doing to create the STP issues ?

Is it is to do with TCNs being generated when the server interface goes down then up again ?
