How to limit ingress bandwidth on a Catalyst 2960

Hi

I would like limit the ingress bandwidth of interface on a switch.

In the doc (2960 Config Guide for IOS 12.2(44)SE page 31-67), I found this command :

srr bandwidth limit X (with X between 10-90)

This work very well for egress traffic.

For a PC connected to the switch port, this command limit the download for the PC.

Because on the switch I have some Internet Web site, most of the traffic is ingress traffic (for the switch port) and I would like to control the bandwidth usage. For the server connected to the switch, most traffic is upload.

For example on a 100 Mbits port, I want to limit the bandwidth (so I want to limit the upload) to 13 Mbits/s

How can I do that ?

Hi aamsaleq,

Have you thought about using QOS. This is the best way to achieve proper prioritiy of traffic.
