My new Catalyst 2960G switches take a minimum of 1 minute before forwarding traffic after a fresh power cycle (Portfast = enabled).
A slow boot is acceptable on a PC, but not on a switch. Anyway to trim this down?

In a simple answer this is normal and faster than most cisco switches if it is booting in 1 minute . No way to adjust this as the switch has to load code and do hardware checks . Normally switches are only taken down for maintenance so how fast it boots shouldn't really matter .

Thanks Glen. Though in my case I'm using multiple switches for redundancy in a hosted server farm. So failover and boot times are critical for me.
