how we can can tell if crash info file is from MSFC or Sup?

Hi all,

We had 6510 switch reloaded due to software error.

It has single sup and msfc.

We have crash info file generated need to know  how can we tell which crash info file  is from msfc and which crash info is from supe?

As per me if we do

sh sup-bootflash:
-#- ED ----type---- --crc--- -seek-- nlen -length- ---------date/time--------- name
1   .. image        8B0D85F8 289CF68   33 42061544 Jun 5 2006 10:44:25 -04:00 s72033-pk9sv-mz.122-17d.SXB11.bin
2   .. crashinfo    F137CE8D 291921C   25   255037 Sep 5 2010 00:16:04 -04:00 crashinfo_20100905-041604  ***********************

This is crash info for Supe right?

and this is crash info for msfc

sh                 bootflash:
-#- ED ----type---- --crc--- -seek-- nlen -length- ---------date/time--------- name
1   .. crashinfo    F463EF18  12202C   25   333428 Sep 5 2010 00:16:04 -04:00 crashinfo_20100905-041604

correct me if i am wrong?

Thanks

Hello Mahesh,

more the command is more not show

and yes if you are in Hybrid mode each  component (Sup/MSFC) has written its own core dump (crash info) and MSFC writes its own in its bootflash.

sorry if I have been unclear

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hello Mahesh,

crashinfo files are readable (text) you can use the more command to see it on your telnet/SSH session

more sup-bootflash:crashinfo_20100905-041604

or

more bootflash:crashinfo_20100905-041604

if you are running in Native IOS mode the second file is probably more useful and you see that is bigger.

you can also use TFTP to move the files to your PC.

if the image you are running is s72033-pk9sv-mz.122-17d.SXB11.bin I would say that it is quite old.

Hope to help
