HSRP authentication

witch version of IOS I need to encrypt the HRSP authentication password.

We are running cat6509 native mode with IOS version 12.2-18.SXF7 and it doesn't seems that I can encrypt the password.

Good question ;) SXF7 is the latest release, you know. I was always wondering how does cisco decide which features are to be included into the sw images for various platforms. MD5 authentication is supported on routers since 12.3(2)T. It is supported in 12.2 on 3750. GLBP MD5 authentication is supported on 6500, but HSRP MD5 authentication ISN'T. WHY, CISCO ???
