HSRP / STP / NIC teaming traffic flow

First, thanks for your input.

Below is physical topology and STP topology.

- Primary switch is a root bridge.

- Primary switch is Active HSRP.

  From server side to outside, it goes L2 switch -> Pri  sw -> L2 -> ASA outside.

  However, when there is no L2 switch, but server with NIC teaming like below. If server prefers traffic through secondary switch, not primary switch due to misconfiguraiton of NIC teaming such as lower priority, how does traffic go? Does traffic go like below?   Server -> Secondary (because of NIC teaming preference) -> Primary SW (because of STP L2 port is blocked) -> L2 switch -> ASA outside.  Is it right?

You are correct.

And just imagine the reply packets/frames in case the external VLAN's HSRP address is accidentally on Sec. Especially how the upper switch will learn the necessary MAC address for HSRP. :)
