HSRP Virtual ip not able to ping

Hai ,

   I am practising HSRP lab with 3 routers . I am going to create one standby group which  virutal ip 20.0.0.1 /24 ,the physical interface ip's are below 10.0.0.1 /24

10.0.0.2 /24

10.0.0.3 /24 .  

Will my topology works .

find the attachment for full topology view .

You want the VIP and router IP's to be in different subnets? I'm affraid that won't work.

Hi Mohammed,

The HSRP VIP needs to be in the same subnet at the real router IP's.

I suggest changing the configuration so that the HSRP VIP is: 10.0.0.4 /24

the default route for R5 should then be set to:

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.0.0.4

      yes i tried with that and it works .  But  is there any trick  for making my topology works .
