Does anyone have any experience with these HWICs? We are currently field testing one in a 1841 as a primary connection for a small (1 user) remote site. I am experiencing 2 issues:
1. Time to acquire a signal
Every now and then the signal will just drop, upon reloading the router it can take quite some time for it to pick up the signal again. While other times it will pick one up pretty quickly. My question is what factors play a role in the HWIC getting a signal.
2. DDR and Crypto Maps
The router is configured for DDR with an IPSec crypto map VPN tunnel back to our network. After a period of inactivity the router will close the call, collapsing the tunnel. Would a VTI setup be more reliable to keep the tunnel up?
Any other thoughts, comments, or opinions on these type of devices would be greatly appreciated.
