I am seeing VM and physical servers with static ip addresses assigned to them come up with a 169.x address after a reboot.

The servers are connected to a 6509 switch.  The VM servers are connected via a 10 gig trunk port and the physical servers are connected via 1gig copper. Is this an IOS issue. I haven't updated the code on my 6509 so I can rule that out.  I have however done IOS updates on the edge 3750's and 2960's.
