Hello Grace,

Please post a transcript or a screenshot of your terminal session with the router while trying to boot it. There may be some vital information showing us where the problem may be.

Best regards,

Peter

Download an older smaller feature reduced version and load that first. Once that is loaded upload your newer larger ios.

Hello Grace,

The Cache Error Exception suggests that either the IOS image is corrupted, or - more seriously - that your switch has a hardware problem.

I would suggest the same what Jeff suggested as well - try using a less feature-rich IOS, ideally a different, older version to boot your switch. If that does not help then I am afraid we are out of luck here. Cache Error Exception suggests a memory or CPU issue.

By the way, do the numbers in the displayed register dump change each time you reload the switch? Also, can you use the 't' (test memory) function from the mini ROM?

Best regards,

Peter

Hi! Peter:

I boot it up again this morning.  Here is the out put.  I think it is the same as before I will do as you and Jeff suggested.  If it still is not working, I will let it go.  Thanks a lot!

Hi! Peter:

I did you and Jeff suggested, copy xmodem a older version of IOS and boot it.  It did not load either.  I got the same error message as boot the previous version.  Then I did a few ROM> t.  All passed.   Here is the out put.  I am not sure I did correctly.

Thanks for all your help.
