ICMP Port Unreachable from gateway 10.x.x.x for udp from testserver (10.x.x.x) to 10.x.x.x port 33440

Sir,

I have attached the output of sun server.what is the reason for

ICMP Port Unreachable from gateway 10.40.20.154

for udp from testserver (10.40.20.13) to 10.20.250.16 port 33440.whetehr it is server problem or switch problem.

Can you do a packet trace and re-run the ping command?

When you do the packet trace you want to look at the error code.

0 = gateway aka Time-to-live exceeded in transit.

1 = server aka Fragment reassembly time exceeded

That will get you your answer
