Implications of having trunk on server ports.

Hi Guys,

I'm needing to config a server port as trunk and I'd like to know what are the implications (security, spanning-tree) of having a server port configured as trunk?

Do I have to configure anything else on that port for security reasons?

Best Regards

Re: Implications of having trunk on server ports.

You should use spanning-tree portfast trunk and spanning-tree bpdufilter enable on that port.

Also you should allow only needed vlans on this trunk just in case server gets compromised.

I would also use switchport nonegotiate.
