Importing config into different cisco model?

I have two Cisco 3750E switches that are stacked. I am replacing these switches with 2 stacked Cisco 2960X switches. All the switches are 48 ports and the 2960's have a different IOS version.

Is it possible to import the configuration from the 3750 to the 2960? I know I can import it, I'm wondering if this is not recommend or not.

I could configure the new switches from scratch but thought it would save me time to just import the config.

Has anyone ever done that before? Import to a different model?

If the 3750 have gb interfaces and the 2960 are 10/100, then you'll need to change your notation. Other than that, as long as the two switches support the same features that you're moving from one switch to another, there shouldn't be any problems. I'm talking about copy/paste and not copy to start and rebooting. You're going to have errors that way....
