Hi,

The Nexus 7018 switch interface has a constantly increment counter for input discard (N7K-F248XP-25 card).  Does anybody know what it means?  The server at the other end doesnt seem to report any errors...

HP server is connected to N7K1 and N7K2 on Eth 14/20 and VPC (1420 configured between Nexus 7K switch (switch and server is negotiate on ether channel protocol (not on LACP protocol)).

I have attach the log of Cisco Nexus switch for suggestion and further troubleshooting.

Hi Anil,

1. Firstly,  Check if you have monitor session configured ?? If so,what is the destination Interface?

monitor session

2. What are the remote devices attached to the interfaces seeing input discards?

sh int | inc 'input discard' ( from Both Switch)

 Show version
 Show module
Show interface e14/20 counter detail all | ex "= 0"
 Show queuing interface e14/20
 Show run int e14/20
 Show cdp neigh interface e14/20
 Show policy-map interface e14/20
Show system internal qos qu stat int e14/20

Show hardware internal statistics module 14 pktflow droppe (run this command 3-4
times)
 Attach module 14
 Show hardware internal version
 Show hardware internal qengine vqi-map
Show hardware internal qengine inst 11 voq-status non-empty (run this command 3-4
times)
Exit

Share the above output.
