I notice my 2924 swith fa0/1 and fa02 get input error.

Received 476 broadcasts, 2091 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles

2091 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored

Received 475 broadcasts, 225 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles

225 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored.

those port was config to connect two router by dot1Q trunking.

otherwise, my adsl link was unstable like msn connection will be auto disconnect per 15~30 sec.

are there any relation ? anyone can give some suggestion

From the output it looks like all of the input errors are due to runts. (225 runts, 225 input errors).

Runts are ethernet frames which are smaller than the minimum size and usually discarded by the switch.

A common cause of this problem is duplex mismatches. So if you do a show interface on the switch, it will tell you what speed and duplex it is using. You should also check the other end and see what its interface is set to.

Also on older version of 2924's, the counters may incorrectly count normal frames as runts and therefore you do not need to worry. This is documented in bug CSCds32999.

What IOS are you running?

thanks for your reply

the version of ios in my switch is as below

IOS (tm) C2900XL Software (C2900XL-C3H2S-M), Version 12.0(5.2)XU.

for duplex, i have set it to full and speed 100 at two ends. but ruts and input error still keep growing.

so it make it to orz~~~~ since i can't download anything by adsl line even msn.

-_-!!
