Integrating two networks

HI

Current situation with ospf and transparent vtp mode switches C4k which is at remote

1st network: L3-C4k in A0 with Voip Vlans

2nd network: L3-C4k in A128--wan--HQ w/A0

**2nd net carries data vlans

1st and 2nd network are physically at remote location and we are finally planning to merge them together. Ques:

1. I plan to change the 1st Network from A0 to A128. Can I do this as I "think" I can have ospf without A0?

2. I plan to setup a L3 channel between the 2 networks as well as setup 1st-net as root for all voip vlan and 2nd-net as root for all data vlan.

Will this work or any gothchas on this?

TIA

Re: Integrating two networks

1) If you are going to have only one area, then you can very well go with A128. But if you are palling to have multiple areas, then Area 0 is must.

2) Yes. Use the following command.

Switch(config)# spanning-tree vlan root primary
