We have a wireless network with a Controller 4400 and a Catalyst 2960. Some customers with Intel wireless network cards get a very weak signal while the others get a normal signal.
Are there any settings the IT team should check? They are not very professional, that's why I am asking this question. My networking skills are limited, but anything that I can pass on to them will help.
Sounds like they maybe did not do a very thorough site survey for access point placement , or you do not have enough ap's to give adequate coverage. Also the ap's power settings may be able to be adjusted if they are not maxed out already.
I don't think the power is the problem, because right next to the ap an INTEL network card picks-up 1 bar of signal while an ATHEROS gets 5 bars. There must be some compatibility issues or wrong settings.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
