Hi,
I would like to know if I can use the interface loopback on access switches (Catalyst 3750) to reach them vÃa telnet.
I have an interface vlan defined with an ip address (interface vlan 10 ip address 10.10.1.5 Management)but I need to access those devices with another ip address that I want to asign on a loopback interface.
Can I get some help please.
Thanks

A loopback interface is a virtual interface as are SVIs (Switched Virtual Interface) such as VLAN interfaces. I believe that the 3750 supports configuration of VLAN interfaces but not the loopback interface. Why would you want a loopback interface instead of a VLAN interface?

I think it will support a loopback interface but it would have to have ip routing enabled with a dynamic routing protocol so the network knows how to get to it . If you have ip routing turned off it is not possible to use the loopback as the network would not know how to get there .
